Selection of a laptop
While computers used to take up most of the desk space, modern models are not only compact but also highly productive. Some people use them for work and study, while others need a computer for entertainment. In any case, it is almost impossible to imagine the life of a modern person without a laptop.
How to choose a laptop
It’s not an easy task, especially if you put it to an ordinary user. There are several main criteria for buying a computer:
- Price;
- Manufacturer;
- Display diagonal;
- Hard drive size;
- Amount of RAM.
As a rule, even an inexperienced user can pick up a new laptop with these characteristics. If you make a choice based solely on the price, you should keep in mind that it makes no sense to buy the most expensive computer for entertainment and simple tasks. The total cost of a product is primarily influenced by the brand, so it is important to remember that the price will also depend on the company’s reputation.
The diagonal of the display is one of the most important parameters. For watching movies and playing games, it is better to have a screen of at least 17″. However, this size may be a bit impractical for work and study. The size of a computer directly affects its weight. And it is quite difficult to carry a laptop weighing 2 kg or more.
The size of your hard drive is your computer’s memory. The larger it is, the more information you can store on it. The key is to divide the hard drive into several volumes. Computer performance depends on the amount of RAM. That is, the larger it is, the faster the equipment will cope with the task at hand. But again, it all depends on how you plan to use your computer. For simple tasks (Word, using a browser, watching movies), 4-8 GB is enough. Games require more memory – 8-16 GB. But this figure increases with the release of updated software versions.
Other important parameters also influence the choice of laptop. For example, the operating system, type of video card, fingerprint and optical drive.
