Setting up Internet.

How to set up Internet on a computer via a cable.

The Internet is indispensable in our lives, but it must first be connected and configured. And this is not an easy task, especially for those who are doing it for the first time. For this reason, most Internet service providers meet their customers halfway and provide Internet connection services for a mere penny. The process is as follows: you sign a contract with the provider, then a technician comes to you, connects everything and sets it up, and you just have to enjoy your life with the Internet. However, if you refuse to use this service or have any problems, you will have to connect and configure the Internet yourself.

How to set up Internet on a computer via a cable

Internet settings do not depend on how you connected the Internet (via a cable directly or by plugging the cable into the router), but on the type of connection you have.

There are the following types:

  • Dynamic IP. The easiest type of connection to set up. You will receive all the data for a successful connection to the global network automatically.
  • Static IP. If you have this type of connection, you will have to configure the Internet manually.
  • PPPoE (Point-to-point protocol over Ethernet). This type of Internet connection will require you to enter a login and password when connecting.
  • Other types of connection, such as PPTP or L2TP.
